Our last special this month is the beautiful Pai Mu Tan.
Whilst we have chosen this tea for its health promoting capabilities, it would be remiss not to mention its unique and refreshing slightly fruity flavour and floral aroma of this shimmering delicate infusion making it a pure delight.
A Chinese white tea from the Fujian Provence, also known as White Peony, this rare and beautiful white tea is considered to be a true tea, meaning it goes under very little processing. The young leaves of the camellia sinensis are carefully hand-picked in the first few weeks of spring before they are fully opened and are dried in natural sunlight.
It has been found that this famous white tea contains high amounts of polyphenols making it a great ally to fight viruses and bacteria, the high level of antioxidants in White Peony naturally help strengthen your immune system, protecting you from illness and reducing your recovery time if you do become ill.
This tea is perfect if you are suffering with stress, anxiety, or nervousness, it is rich in magnesium and also contains theanine, a compound that has a calming effect on the nervous system.
However, should you need a bit of a pick me up in the day, white tea does contain caffeine, but unlike coffee it is released slowly into your bloodstream and has a longer lasting effect.
A perfect support for your body and mind this January
