Whilst Japan has traditionally been bound to green teas, we are delighted to bring you this Japanese grown red tea a rare treat outside Japan.  This premium tea from the Benifuki cultivar is an assamica and sinensis hybrid developed in the Kagoshima prefecture.  Benifuki loosely translates as red riches and honours, and this beautiful organically grown Benifuki creates a reddish golden infusion that is rich and mellow with a natural sweetness
